All submissions must be written in English, must be electronically submitted in PDF format, and will be peer-reviewed according to the standards determined by the Technical Program Committee.  Accepted and presented papers will be published in the GreenTech 2017 Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore®.  To be published in the GreenTech 2017 Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore®, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate (member or non-member) and the paper must be presented at the conference. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper.  For authors with multiple accepted papers, each paper must be presented by an author.  One full registration is valid for up to 2 papers.

Full Paper Submission Requirements

Please submit a full-paper, IEEE double-column formatted, without any identification of the authors. The general guideline are in ( The paper should not exceed 8 pages, including all text, references, appendices and figures. For final publication further instructions will be sent by the organizers of IEEE GreenTech. Submissions must be original, i.e. never published contributions. Selected accepted papers may be reviewed for possible publication with the IEEE Transactions on Industry Application, after the event. The main areas of interest are:

Energy Transmission, Distribution and Efficiency: Smart- and micro-grids, usage-based distribution (example, offices and homes). Novel energy efficient devices, systems and operations. Life-cycle efficiency and optimizations: buildings, transportation, logistics (supply chain), products and services.

Energy Generation and Storage: Renewable, low to zero emission, for example, biomass, wind, solar, fuel cells, ultra clean fuels, alternative fuels (thorium/nuclear). Distributed, local/co- and poly-generation, storage systems.

Management and Control: Sensors, monitoring, control, security, fail-safe and ad-hoc networks/communications, frameworks and architectures, context-based management; process and systems simulation, “Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation” (HiL) and Power HiL.

Policies: Environmental, Legal, Social, Economic, and Political Impacts including emerging standards for renewable and reduced carbon emission energy sources, safety, technologies for developed and underdeveloped countries.

This conference will review papers in any of the following topics:

  • Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and Smart Grids: Effects, impacts and potential solutions
  • Energy Efficiency and Consumption: business models, incentives, markets, policies and frameworks, and smart customers, loads and meters
  • Energy Harvesting and Conversion: smart power electronics, resilience, and sustainability
  • Energy Storage Devices and Systems batteries, fuel cells, super-capacitors, sustainable technologiesEnergy Market, Policies and Economics: big data, business models and intelligence, e-markets, incentives, and smart markets
  • Micro-grids: ac/dc systems, control and optimization, energy management, storage
