Paper Submission Deadline Extended to December 15, 2012
The Fifth Annual IEEE Green Technologies Conference (GreenTech’13) builds on the success of previous conferences. Green Technologies is an inter-disciplinary area with impacts in all human endeavors. The impacts of our energy consumption are forcing us to fundamentally rethink every aspect of what, why and how we do, reimagine of what and how we can do it differently, and recreate the capacity, structure and operations to support our reimagination. GreenTech’13 will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to address these wide-ranging issues covering various aspects of “green technologies.”
The conference solicits original, unpublished research and practice papers; all articles will be peer-reviewed. The conference welcomes innovative and even controversial ideas. The poster session allows for preliminary, emerging and futuristic ideas to be shared with participants. All authors are encouraged to take a life-cycle systems approach and consider, where possible, such measures as EROEI (energy returned on energy invested) or EROI (energy return on investment) and others.
Areas of Interest
In keeping with the conference theme, the conference may not be organized around traditional functionally oriented tracks. The broad areas listed below are but examples, and are not “buckets.” The conference encourages innovative, cross-functional submissions. The conference Green covers both renewable and clean technologies, while Technologies includes technologies, systems, processes and policies. The facilities are organized to foster innovation through chance/deliberate idea collisions/fusions.
Example Topic Areas of Interest
Energy Transmission, Distribution and Efficiency:
Smart- and micro- grids, usage-based distribution (example, offices and homes). Novel energy efficient devices, systems and operations. Life-cycle efficiency and optimizations: buildings, transportation, logistics (supply chain), products and services
Energy Generation and Storage:
Renewable, low to zero emission, for example, biomass, wind, solar, fuel cells, ultra clean fuels, alternative fuels (thorium/nuclear). Distributed, local/co- and poly-generation, storage systems
Management and Control:
Sensors, monitoring, control, security, fail-safe and ad-hoc networks/communications, frameworks and architectures, context-based management; process and systems simulation
Policies: Environmental, Legal, Social, Economic, and Political Impacts
Submission Process
IEEE GreenTech 2013 relies upon a peer review process to ensure the quality of the technical content. Author-registration and presentation is required for the paper to be published in the conference proceedings. Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Please note that Authors will be required to transfer copyrights to their paper(s) accepted for presentation at the conference.
All papers (maximum of 8 pages) must be submitted in IEEE approved format through EasyChair. The IEEE Author Digital Toolbox contains tools and information to assist with article preparation; also included is a list of frequently asked questions. Some of the more useful items are listed below:
- Template and Instructions on How to Format Your Paper
- IEEE Style Manual
- IEEE Taxonomy
- Refine the English Used in Your Document
