Brief Biography:

Thanassis Iatropoulos graduated as Electrical Engineer from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1984 and holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in the USA since 1986. In 2004 he obtained an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Macedonia. He has worked in software development since 1988 and has taken on the role of Director of IT at the Swiss insurance companies SCHWEIZ, Zurich and the General Construction Company (GEK SA). In 1999 he took over as Head and later Director of Informatics and Communications, Director of Systems Development & Technologies and today Deputy Director of Digital Convergence & Information Systems at “EGNATIA ODOS SA”. He has dealt with the development of strategies for the exploitation of fiber optic networks, the support of toll systems at Egnatia motorway and participated in several EU funded programmes on intelligent transport systems.
