IEEE Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) Training Workshop

IEEE Greece Section and IEEE Educational Activities Board, in collaboration with IEEE Region 8, organize on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2015, a Training Workshop for educators of primary and secondary education level of Greece, in order to support activities that promote engineering to Greek students. IEEE is the biggest and a well known technological Institute worldwide, with more than 360.000 members in 160 countries. In the framework of awareness for the engineering jobs, IEEE has established the IEEE Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) to support educational activities at schools depicting engineering and relating science. Notice that the official language of the workshop is English, since educators and IEEE members from various countries in the wider Mediterranean area will also attend.

In this 1½ day workshop, you will learn how to provide training to local primary and secondary school teachers on the use of engineering & engineering design lesson plans and hands-on activities in the classroom, how teachers can motivate students in the classroom toward a better understanding of engineering, how the lesson plans may be aligned to local education standards, how to develop a partnership with local primary and secondary school systems.

IEEE will reimburse all reasonable travel-related expenses following the workshop. Travel-related expenses include up to a two night hotel stay (for those living more than 1 hour from the venue) and transportation to and from the workshop location. Instructions for requesting reimbursement will be shared during the workshop.
