The Workshop on “Current trends in analog and mixed-signal circuit design and technology” (AMSCI 2015), was organized in Thessaloniki on Nov. 20, 2015, by Prof. Alkis Hatzopoulos, Electronics Lab., Dept. of Electrical and Computer Eng. (http://site.ieee.org/greece-casssc/upcoming-workshop/ ). Three speakers were invited to give lectures: Prof. Ricardo Reis from the Instituto de Informática – Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, Dr. Erik Jan Marinissen from IMEC, Belgium and Dr. Thomas Noulis from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Dept. of Physics.
During the event we announced and we gave the Award for the contest on the Best “Master thesis (Diploma) project” from Greek Universities Engineering students in the research areas of the conference, which was announced in January 2015. The workshop also include a special session aiming at the promotion of the IEEE CASS-SSCS activities in Greece and world-wide.
There was an on-line web broadcasting of the Workshop and its video recording is available to all members upon request.
The event was financially supported by the IEEE CASS “Outreach initiative 2015” activity, the IEEE Greece CAS-SSC joint Chapter and the Research Committee of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Very successful event, with a large number of participants, especially students in Electronic and Computer engineering (beyond expectation, considering its rather focused topic) and interesting and very positive interaction with the audience.
