Dynamics of Un-Restrained Dynamic Bodies
May 22 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
ONLINE Virtual Meeting
May 22nd, 2020 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
TOPIC: “Dynamics of Un-Restrained Dynamic Bodies”
SPEAKER: George Nasser, Ph.D.
This presentation is focused on mathematical modeling of unrestrained elastic bodies. These bodies undergo uniform translation, free finite rotation and elastic deformation. In order to explicitly decouple these three types of large motions, Energy formulation and solution is required to augment essential fixity conditions. Dr. Nasser will review the underlining model and assumptions along with an Augmented Lagrangian solution. He will propose forward studies in order to determine the sensitivity of numerical solution to the fixity conditions.
Dr. Nasser has over 40 years of experience in the Aerospace, Telecommunications and Electric Utility Industries. His research interest is Computational Dynamics and Control with applications in the Aerospace industry, in particular Space based Manipulators such as the International Space Station and flexible payloads.
