Galveston Bay Section (GBS) Presents
Blockchain Technology & Recent Trends IEEE-GBS-SMC-20190827
UHCL –Delta Building D140
August 27th, 2019, 6:00-7:30 PM
Emile will discuss the basics of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and “Blockchain”, some of the recent trends and use cases for this new technology along with some of the challenges for adoption.
The promises for this area of innovation (Blockchain Tech) are vast for Government, Business and Personal applications, some of the advancements will radically change how things will be done as process/transaction friction is reduced.
Some projects are moving rapidly but we are seeing pockets of innovation on standby due to slowed adoption / extended trials and regulatory uncertainty.
It is our premise that understanding of use case solutions for DLT technology is growing at a rapid pace, and we can expect significant implementations underpinning several verticals over the next 2-5 years. This presentation is to explore a couple of areas for awareness.
Key topics for discussion:
Opening – What’s all the Buzz about?
DLT Technology – What is it, What’s Involved, Areas to Explore
Key Aspects of Blockchain – Trends, Use Cases, Statistics
Digital Assets – Types, Uses, Securities, Tokenization
Challenges for Adoption – Capabilities, Technology Awareness, Regulatory issues, and framework.
