Dear members of the IADF TC,
As we approach the end of this year, we wish you a holiday season and a happy and healthy 2020!
We would like to share updated information regarding the IADF TC activities of the year 2020.
# 2020 Data Fusion Contest
The 2020 edition of the Data Fusion Contest is now open!
This year, it deals with Global Land Cover Mapping with Weak Supervision.
The task is to train a machine learning model for global land cover mapping from globally available multimodal satellite data based on weakly annotated samples.
Join the competition and test your algorithms in the benchmark: for each track, winners will gain scientific recognition through co-authoring conference and journal papers and win a GPU!

# EarthVision 2020 Workshop
We are pleased to invite you to submit a full paper to the EarthVision 2020 Workshop “Large scale computer vision for remote sensing imagery” (https://www.grss-ieee.org/earthvision2020/index.html) held in conjunction
with the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2020 (http://cvpr2020.thecvf.com/) in Seattle, WA. It will take place on either June 14 or 15, 2020 (date to be confirmed).
During this workshop, we aim at fostering collaboration between the computer vision and Earth observation communities. We want to create a forum for discussion to boost automated interpretation of Earth observation
data and to raise awareness inside the vision community of the challenges related to remote sensing, a quickly evolving field of research with a big impact on human society, economy, industry and the planet.
Papers must be formatted according to CVPR guidelines (max. 8 pages without references) using the template found on the workshop Website.
Full paper submission deadline is March 7, 2020, at 23h59 GMT.
On January 1, 2020, the CMT submission site will be open and accessible from https://www.grss-ieee.org/earthvision2020/index.html
Looking forward to seeing you in Seattle!

# Call for conference papers
IGARSS 2020 (deadline Jan. 15, 2020)
On Sunday before the main conference, there will be a new edition of the full-day tutorial on “Machine Learning in Remote Sensing” with talks given by IADF chair Naoto Yokoya (RIKEN) and co-chair Ronny Hänsch (DLR), as
well as by Yuliya Tarabalka (LuxCarta), and Andreas Ley (TU Berlin). Furthermore, during the conference there will be the annual IADF TC meeting where we discuss past and future activities of the TC. You are strongly
encouraged to join both events.
