Financial Assistance Program for Economically Disadvantaged Participants (IEEE members ONLY):

The 2014 IEEE International Symposium on Ethics in Science, Technology and Engineering (Ethics’2014) provides funding to selected economically disadvantaged Participants from both developing and developed countries to attend the annual the Ethics’2014 Symposium.
Financial support is limited to 75% of basic symposium registration, excluding optional activities and services. The Financial Assistance Program for Economically Disadvantaged Participants (FAP/EDP) committee shall determine the level of support to be provided. This committee has been formed by the Symposium International Steering Committee.
The applicant must present a paper in which he or she is the principal author or participate in a workshop, tutorial or panel/forum that provides a substantial contribution to the program of the Symposium. If there are multiple authors or presenters, only one can apply for financial assistance.
The applicant must provide two endorsements:

  • A co-worker/supervisor/professor and
  • A regional/local IEEE officer (Section Chairman, Vice Chair, Chapter Chair, etc.). The endorsement must certify that the applicant is in need of financial assistance.

The applicant must provide proof of commitment to participate in the Symposium in addition to agreeing that they will support their IEEE Section, Chapter or other local professional community, by presenting their paper or other elements of their participation at the Symposium to colleagues at the local or regional level.
