Call for Papers

Building upon the success of the IEEE ETHICS 2014, the IEEE Ethics Symposium Steering Committee invites contributions to the IEEE ETHICS 2016 Symposium to be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada from 13-14 May 2016.

IEEE Ethics 2016 will be hosted by the IEEE Vancouver Section  in cooperation with the W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics at UBC and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Formal Paper and Session Formats!

  • An individual paper presentation of 5 pages (recommended, but not limited to) in the Symposium Record.
  • A special paper session with 3-4 papers on a related theme with 5 pages for each paper (recommended, but not limited to) in the Symposium Record.
  • A panel session on a specific topic with 3-4 panelists (no papers required but PowerPoint presentations may be included in the Symposium Record).
  • An “open forum” (poster) paper with up to 5 pages in the Symposium Record. Posters will be displayed with the author(s) present for informal presentation and discussions.
  • Workshops and tutorials.

Commercial or promotional papers are not acceptable.

Important Dates!

  • Abstracts for individual papers (500 words), Posters (500 words), Special Paper Session Proposals, and,
  • Panel proposals, Tutorial proposals, and Workshop proposals are due:  (Sunday) January 3, 2016.

Abstract Submission via EasyChair.

  • Notification of Acceptance: (Sunday) January 24, 2016.
  • Final Paper Manuscripts for the Symposium Proceedings: (Sunday) February 28, 2016.
  • Conference: Friday, 13 and Saturday, 14 May 2016, Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown
