Salinas is a beach resort located 124 km from Guayaquil, and part of the Santa Elena peninsula. As a beach ressort it offers several touristic atractions as its beatiful and sunny beaches, many water sport options, a good range of seafood restaurants, and a hand made crafts market. A nearby landmark is La Chocolatera, which is at the farthest point of the Santa Elena peninsula.
Salinas is a small town with a permanent population of less than 40,000 inhabitants; this number increases to more than 100,000 during the high season weakends, and holidays.
Salinas is accessible from Guayaquil via the “ruta del spondylus” road. There are public transportation companies that regularly travel to Salinas: Liberpesa, CLP and Costa Azul. From Quito it is posible to get to Salinas by plane, the national airplane Company Tame has a regular frequency to the twon.

Workshops and Tutorials Venue
ETCM 2017 workshops and tutorials will be held at the Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES) campus, located in Samborondón city, Greater Guayaquil. UEES is a is a non-profit private university, founded in 1993, that includes a college in Computer Sciences, Telecommunications, and Electronics.
