Enhance your Résumé with IEEE Leadership Experience

Take a moment to examine where you are right now in your career. Maybe you are a young professional just starting your career and looking to advance in your company. Maybe you have been in your field for several years as a young professional but are looking to take the next big step. Maybe you are a student about to graduate and find that first job. Think about the steps that have led you to where you are and the steps needed to take you to your next destination.

Now imagine those who have helped you. These are the leaders in your life. Like you they have had leaders in their lives. In fact, did you know that everyone is a leader whether they realize it or not? There are people that we follow and people that follow us.

The IEEE Dallas Young Professionals would like to help you find that place where you can learn from current and past leaders to become a current and future leader to others. In fact, our vision was crafted to describe this dynamic. The IEEE Dallas Young Professionals are a Community of Young, Innovative Professionals becoming Future Technology Leaders (check out the header at the top of the email). We do this by inspiring and equipping our members to become stronger leaders, more successful professionals, and more conscientious citizens (our mission). Join us to become a better leader today!

The IEEE Dallas Young Professionals Board is transitioning our leadership. I will be stepping down as the Chair, where I have served since January 2015. Long time board member, Robert Berry, will be the new chair in 2017. He has a great vision for the IEEE Dallas Young Professionals in 2017. As such, there are many positions to serve with him in 2017 and this will be an excellent opportunity to become a better leader. As you serve, you will see the inner workings of the IEEE Dallas Young Professionals including planning events and assisting with logistics. You will have the opportunity to learn leadership skills and be mentored by the by long time officers such as Robert Berry, Joel Arzola, and myself (I will still be around!). You will certainly get the chance to feel the sense of accomplishment when events are successfully completed (there’s nothing like it). Don’t forget, you can put this volunteer activity on your resume (hint, hint students about to graduate)!

All officer positions are open except Chair and are listed here:
Vice Chair
