Abstract: 5G technologies are starting to be deployed, but already the wireless R&D community is starting to think about the roadmap to future 6G.  In this talk, the use cases, KPIs, and technology trends that are expected to define 6G are covered.

BIO: Akbar Rahman is a Principal Engineer at InterDigital, a wireless and video technology research and development company. He has 30 years of experience in the field of communications including development and standardization of Cellular, WiFi, and Internet technologies.  Mr. Rahman is the (co-)author of numerous industry publications involving architecture and evolution of the Internet, and a frequent speaker at industry events including IEEE Globecom.  He is the author of over 90 patents and holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.  He currently participates in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and concentrates on standardizing next generation Internet features.  He has previously held senior engineering roles at Nortel and Ericsson.  Mr. Rahman is based in Montreal, Canada.
