About IEEE Dallas Section

The Dallas Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional organization of electrical, electronic, and computer engineers in the greater Dallas area. It organizes technical, educational, and scientific meetings providing professional benefits to its members while contributing towards progress in the field. Approximately 4000 IEEE local members are served by the Section and its more than 20 IEEE professional Society chapters.

Monthly Section and Chapter Meetings are designed for general technical and professional interests. The section newsletter runs weekly and publishes upcoming events and special activities, and the monthly event calendar is updated each week on its website.

Interested IEEE members are invited to become active in the Dallas Section and its Society Chapters. All interested members are welcome to attend any of the Section and Chapter meetings or local seminars.

About IEEE Region 5

IEEE Region 5 includes areas (some partial) in 12 state in Central. These states are 1) Texas, 2) Louisiana, 3) New Mexico, 4) Arkansas, 5) Oklahoma, 6) Illinois, 7) Missouri, 8) Kansas, 9) Colorado, 10) Nebraska, 11) South Dakota, and12) Wyoming.  IEEE has organized into regions in order to support members and sections on a more local basis.  Within Region 5 there are more than 23,000 higher grade members and over 3600 student members.  They are aligned with 26 sections and over 90 student branches.

The Region provides planning and funding support as well as working to assure sections have vibrant programs to support members careers and meet the IEEE mission of Advancing Technology for Humanity.
