How would you like to hear “From basic neuroscience research to two companies developing pain therapeutics: a scientist’s journey into business”? Come to the Sept. 11 meeting for Consultants Network and hear from an expert.  Dr. Ted Price PhD is Associate Professor, Director Undergraduate Neuroscience Program at UTD’s School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. He had a pain problem. He solved it and started a business.  Come learn from his experiences and see what you can learn when you start your business.

I can’t wait for our August 14 meeting. JoAnne Marceau will be speaking on productivity. That’s like catnip for engineers!

We will learn how to be more productive which should be an additional tool for our business success.  Meanwhile, enjoy your summer and see you in August!

Now that the summer is on its way, don’t you want to feel better?  Engineers work very hard. Now we get to learn how to feel better and take better care of ourselves.  Come to our June 12 meeting at our NEW LOCATION: La Madeleine on Beltline near the Tollway.

Dr. John Ayo is a very interesting speaker. He has been researching mind/body/spirit topics since 1976. He worked in sales for IBM for 27 years, where the stress of “Corporate America” caused him to examine his priorities in life. He began having health issues around 1999 that could not be addressed by the traditional medical model of “fixing symptoms”. This led him on an amazing journey back to health . . . and to his true passion. His mission is to make a positive and meaningful difference in people’s lives by sharing the information that he has researched on natural health solutions. He attracts clients who are interested in taking responsibility for their health, and learning about ways to balance mind, body and spirit.

See you at the meeting!

Plan on attending our next CN meeting on May 8. It should be an interesting and career relevant program. Evan Sanchez will be presenting:

Business Transformation – Companies ready for change often don’t know what that change should look like. Evan has developed a toolbox of modalities to become a true change agents for businesses that recognize their time is now.

Here’s his bio:

With a proven track record as an entrepreneur, superior sales management skills and the heart of a coach, Evan Sanchez is often called upon to help small and large businesses reach higher levels of performance by harnessing the skills and assets they have already within their organizations. His Intuitive FLOW coaching psychology also inspires companies to make the culture changes and organizational adjustments necessary to thrive and grow, and encourage their employees to become part of their successes.

By championing leadership, communication, sales performance, critical thinking and work/life balance, Sanchez and his fellow Springboard Consulting associates, develop customized plans for each client and provide workshops, consultations and team-building programs to ensure success. Small and medium size businesses often report revenue increases of 20-30 percent, improved capabilities, and decreases in conflicts and improvements in employee morale.

With more than 15 years as a personal trainer, coach and as a former member of semi-professional Albuquerque Gunners soccer team, Sanchez knows all about setting goals and the champion mindset that makes one achieve new levels of success. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Texas, he’s been the owner or co-owner of three businesses, Director of sales and marketing at Kepner-Tregoe, sales manager at LandAmerica American Title, and a sales director at Dallas Business Journal, where he was named Employee of the Year in 2003.

See you at the meeting!
