Alumni Centre-South-East-Corner Opening Welcome Reception
The Opening Welcome Reception will take place on Sunday July 12 from 19:00-21:00 in the newly built UBC Alumni Centre. This meet and greet event will be a key event to networking with colleagues in the industry and formulating connections with fellow scientists.
Grouse Mountain Off-Campus Excursion
The spectacular Grouse Mountain will the location for COMPEL’s mid-conference excursion on Monday July 13. There will be a variety of cultural, educational and outdoor adventures to choose from including the inspiring and revolutionary Eye of the Wind. This is the world’s first and only wind turbine that allows you to stand in a clear glass viewPOD at the top of the tower, three metres from its massive, rotating blades. Stand in awe of 360-degree views as you come face to face with the future of responsible energy.
An afternoon of adventure will be followed by a elegant buffet dinner atop Grouse Mountain.Buses depart from Walter Gage Residence at 15:00 sharp. Delegates are asked to gather at 14:45 to avoid delays.
