Abstract: Billed as the next generation of transmission for its stylish design and greater capacity, BOLD Transmission, a new subsidiary of AEP Transmission Holding Company, boldly made its public debut with technology aimed at providing the industry with sound transmission solutions. The BOLD design offers superior value over traditional designs because it maximizes capacity in a given right-of-way and presents a more compact and aesthetically pleasing profile. BOLD Transmission is an advantage in the evolving competitive business environment and for companies seeking to rebuild existing infrastructure.
Presenter: Evan R Wilcox, PE , Director of Transmission Planning (east) and BOLD Transmission President.
Evan is the Director of East Transmission Planning at American Electric Power (AEP). Evan oversees all transmission planning and project development functions for AEP’s seven states in the PJM region, and is responsible for reliability and economic studies in support of AEP’s transmission ventures. Evan also serves as the President of BOLD Transmission, LLC, an affiliate of AEP focused on the development and commercialization of the patented BOLD™ transmission line design. Evan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, an MBA from Capital University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Ohio.
