August 2019 – Tour at AEP Transmission Operation Center
We had a wonderful event with a great support from AEP Transmission Operation Center. Good presentations for Transmission reliability operations & dispatches and introductions to the control room functionalities. Appreciate who attended this tour and AEP leadership (Mr. Dave Ball and Mr. Dave Browning).
This event is mainly to tour the New Albany Transmission Operation Center (NATOC).The NATOC houses both the System Control Center (SCC) and the Columbus Transmission Dispatching Center (TDC). The SCC provides real-time monitoring of the transmission grid and communicates with the Regional Transmission Organizations and the TDCs that provide real-time dispatching operations of the transmission system. Note that the attendees are suggested to be arriving at the security gate by 5:15 pm with a government issued ID. Also note that there will no PDH provided for this tour. Please RSVP before Aug. 12th.
