Padmounted Designs for Transformers and Switchgear

In an ever changing and fast paced industry there has remained at least one constant; those large green boxes sprinkled around town.  There is much mystery behind these units. What’s in them? What do they do? How do they do it? Are they safe to the public? Do they have to be so green?  We will discuss the standards and definitions for these stealthy apparatuses as well as explore the various equipment types, ratings and the common markets that you find them in.

Presenters:

Bob Dunkin is the technical sales manager for MC Sales Inc., a rep agency for electrical distribution products. Mr. Dunkin is a graduate from Iowa State University Electrical Engineering power program. Mr. Dunkin has experience in low voltage and medium voltage switchgear design with GE as well as various transformer manufactures such as ABB, SPX transformer solutions and most recently Eaton’s Cooper Power Division.

 

Juan Peraza Casanova is a Sr. Application Engineer with Eaton’s Cooper Power Systems Division. Previously Mr. Peraza Casanova was a Distribution Protection Engineer with Cooper Power Systems and has worked with DMT Corporation on emergency power generators. Additionally he has experience as a maintenance engineer with Pemex oil company in Mexico.
