ARC MITIGATING STRATEGIES & ARC RESISTANT EQUIPMENT

NEC Article 240.87 Arc Energy Reduction, first introduced in 2011, requires circuit breakers 1200A and higher to be provided with a means to reduce the circuit breaker clearing time in an effort to reduce arc flash hazards. This presentation will touch on the five NEC approved methods. The presentation will also touch on arc resistant equipment and ANSI C37.20.7.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Steve Moskowitz graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Sales Engineer for Westinghouse, Siemens, and Eaton. He has been an Application Engineer for Eaton since 2008.

Bill Poss graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He began his career at Ambitech Engineering in the oil, gas and industrial markets. He has been an Application Engineer with Eaton since 2014.
