Worldwide Programming Competition for Students to Return in October 2024

The IEEE has recently announced that its IEEEXtreme 18.0 programming competition will return in October 2024.

IEEEXtreme is an annual 24-hour long programming competition designed to challenge student creativity and team collaboration skills. Thousands of teams scattered across the world will begin the competition simultaneously when the first of many programming challenges is released at 00:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on the day of the event. Students can then submit their responses using a variety of programming languages until the competition ends at 23:59:59 UTC.

To be eligible for this competition, entrants must:

  • Be 18 years of age at the time of registration
  • Be an IEEE student member or an IEEE graduate student member.
  • Register is a team of 1 to 3 IEEE Students or Graduate Student members (a team may only have a maximum of 2 Graduate Student members).
  • Register before the posted deadline (see link below)
  • Select an eligible proctor to monitor the team. IEEE members of grades higher than Undergraduate Student or Graduate Student can register as Proctors.
