Springfield, IL to Host First Local Networking Event of the Season (March 20)

On Thursday, March 20th, 2025 (the first day of spring), the IEEE Central Illinois Section and its Young Professionals affinity group will host an informal networking event in Springfield, IL. The networking event series is where IEEE members can meet to discuss their favorite topics over dinner in a relaxed setting. This event is open to all member grades, including IEEE students, graduate students, senior members, life members, etc. Registration is complimentary. However, please note that all attendees are responsible for their own bills. Registration opens on February 20th.

The activity is conveniently located south of Springfield, between Interstate 55 exit 90 and the University of Illinois Springfield.

These in-person events allow members to build relationships with fellow IEEE professionals and faculty that may lead to future opportunities in the field. As a non-profit organization, the IEEE Central Illinois Section also has many volunteer positions available that offer a chance to gain leadership experience and make valuable connections in a high-tech community.

Can’t Attend?

Friday networking meetings have been scheduled for the city of Champaign, IL from March 2025 through November. More events are being added, so be sure to periodically check Central Illinois’s Event Calendar for activities in this area.

IEEE Young Professionals is a community of IEEE members and volunteers who have graduated from their first professional degree within the past 15 years. It is also an international community with members spanning over 160 countries.
