Webinar: DataThon Competition in kaggle

IEEE Power and Energy Society Bangladesh Chapter is organizing the first-ever online-based data science competition ‘DataThon’. The competition is being hosted on kaggle Platform. To familiarize the participants with this competition platform, IEEE PES BDC organized a seminar titled ‘DataThon Competition in Kaggle’ on how to perform data analysis competition in Kaggle on August 11, 2020. Though it was intended for the competition participants primarily, is was an open-for-all webinar to help students get along with kaggle platform.

The session was conducted by Mr. Tahsin Mostafiz. He is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at AI Samurai Japan Ltd., Dhaka. Previously he was a Research Assistant at Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, BUET.

The webinar was arranged in Google Meet from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. In the hour-long webinar, Mr. Mostafiz introduced the participants with the kaggle Platform and also performed some hands-on coding on a starter notebook he devised specially for the participants. The hands-on coding session lasted around 45 minutes. For the last 15 minutes, he took questions from the participants who all expressed satisfaction with his comments. Approximately 25 participants joined through the meeting link published on the event page.
