Announcement – Travel Grant

Every year, three travel awards will be given to students to attend international conferences (premier conferences only, and the student should be first author on the paper). The award will be Rs. 25,000 per student, and to take care of time-diversity of various SP conferences, one grant will be given every four months or so (not too rigid here, but some regulation to see some important SP conferences are taken care of). Unused grants of a year will be carried over to the next year. This grant will be operated on a financial year basis to facilitate accounting.

    dear Sir/Madam,

I am Madhu, research scholar pursuing MS(by research) graduate degree in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India.

I am submitting one part of my research work as a technical paper for review in the reputes IEEE AP-S/URSI conference to be held in June-July 2013 in USA. I was discouraged on knowing the fact that the prestigious Raj Mittra travel grants are offered to only “young researchers WITH PhD” and not to graduate(MS) research scholars. Does the above mentioned travel grant scheme accept/encourage graduate(MS) research scholars and could I apply for this “Every year, three travel awards will be given to students to attend international conferences” ?

    thanks a lot,
    best regards,
    Madhu, NIT-Trichy, India.
