IEEE ComSoc is a leading global community comprised of a diverse group of industry professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. To that end, the Society sponsors publications, conferences, educational programs, local activities, and technical committees that:

  • Foster original work in all aspects of communications science, engineering, and technology
  • Encourage the development of applications that use signals to transfer voice, data, image, and/or video information between locations
  • Promote the theory and use of systems involving all types of terminals, computers, and information processors; all pertinent systems and operations that facilitate transfer; all transmission media; switched and unswitched networks; and network layouts, protocols, architectures, and implementations
  • Strongly advance developments toward meeting new market demands in systems, products, and technologies such as personal communications services, multimedia communications systems, enterprise networks, and optical communications systems.

ComSoc Bangalore chapter is one of the dynamic and most vibrant chapters in India and R10 region. There are over 300 ComSoc professional members from industry and academia and around 30 student members. The society conducts very high valued current technology workshops and highly demanded workshops, technology talk, seminars.

Bangalore ComSoc has number of Initiatives in last couple of years. Some of them are:

  • 5G Series Workshop since 2015, now it is 5G Summit supported by ComSoc HQ under Industry Connect Program
  • Research Methodology and IEEE AuthorshipLab workshop Series
  • ISCAT (IEEE Smart City Advisory Team) – to provide training, helping local and nearby govt. of city to develop smart city
  • Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) workshop (from 2018)
  • T-TIME Charcha (Tea/Coffee Technology Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Discussion
  • GraTE’7′ – Graduate Thesis Evaluation in 7 minutes (Annual Event from 2018)
  • PhD EDITS – PhD colloquium on Ethically Driven Innovation and Technology for Society from 2019 (Annual Event)
  • ComSoc Newsletter – 2 Issues annually, since 2017.
  • Study group discussion form this year.

The chapter has local DLT (Distinguish Lecture Talk) team who are invited to deliver talk. The society is engaged in organizing high valued conference like ANTS, COMSNET, CONECCT. The chapter is also putting its efforts to bring very high and top rated conferences like SENSORS and GLOBECOM.
