Solar Tour at Georgia Power HQ

Wednesday, August 10th, 2016


You are invited to join us on August 30th 2016, for a presentation and tour of the Georgia Power Solar Demonstration Project. We will have two speaker from the Renewable Development Department that will talk to us about the different resources, latest market trends, and economics about solar power systems. Also, we are going to look at the impact that solar is causing to our always changing grid.

After the presentation, we are going to take you to the rooftop where different types of solar arrangements are being currently tested for performance and best engineering practices.

Registration is required for this event. The prices are $5 for IEEE Members, $15 for Non-IEEE Member and free for IEEE Student Members. Space is limited.
This event is cosponsored by the Power Electronics Society.

Join us for dinner and a presentation about “The Internet of Things” on June 9th at the GTRI Headquarters. The discussion will take lead by Ben Warlick and Bryan Stewart from Morris, Manning & Martin on the topics of privacy, data security, and IP protection for new and emerging technologies.

The Internet of Things (IoT) describes an interconnected world in which devices, vehicles, machinery, and infrastructure communicate with us and with each other over the Internet.  The IoT will bring complex business and legal challenges, particularly in the areas of privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.


Registration for the meeting has started and will continue until Wednesday, June 8th 2016. Online admission is going to be free for IEEE Members and $10 for Non-IEEE Members.
