Albuquerque IEEE WIE Public Talk: “A Journey Towards Becoming a LANL Scientist” by Dr. Tiffany Desjardins, is not available online
Sunday, January 30th, 2022New Mexico Tech Student Branch attends CES 2022 Conference
Sunday, January 30th, 2022The New Mexico Tech (NMT) IEEE Student Branch attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. CES is an annual event that showcases presentations of new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. Over 2000 companies showcase new technologies during this event in a variety of fields including virtual reality, electric vehicles, digital health, smart homes, and much more.
CES 2022 helped the members by allowing them to participate in a professional setting. Additionally, it allowed the members to network with companies of varying sizes and interests, to see the edge of consumer technology, and to see the jobs available at different companies. With CES being an international event, there were people from all parts of the world with varying backgrounds. Some of the attendees that our members networked and interacted with included CEOs of startup companies, lead engineers, marketing representatives, and media personnel. The event helped boost the members’ motivation and excitement in consumer electronics, and it allowed our members the opportunity to see how the industry is actively being shaped.
Our members were interviewed at the SK booth (see picture below) and saw a Boston Dynamics live performance of Spot. Additionally, the members were able to order a coffee and see a robot make their coffee and clean the dishes all within two minutes.
Overall, the NMT IEEE Student Branch had a fantastic experience at CES 2022. The NMT IEEE Student Branch would like to thank the Electrical Engineering department at NMT, the Student Government Association at NMT, and the Albuquerque IEEE Section for the help in funding their attendance at CES 2022.
