New Mexico Tech’s IEEE Student Branch Attended the 2019 Rising Stars Conference

Thursday, November 7th, 2019

The New Mexico Tech’s IEEE Student Branch participated in the 2019 Rising Stars Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The branch sent 5 members to the conference. The conference was a great opportunity for their members to learn about current technologies, network with other motivated students and professionals, along with attending workshops and presentations. The workshops helped them to better understand industry trends along with develop many soft-skills that will benefit them in their careers.  The funding they received from our Section allowed them conserve resources that they could then apply to other areas of the branch. Last semester, the branch held soldering workshops, volunteered in the community, and created an escape room open to NMT in general. All these activities have helped to further the reputation of IEEE at New Mexico Tech and in the Socorro Community.

Thank you to the NMT IEEE student branch members who took advantage of the Rising Stars conference. We look forward to your participation in 2020!
