UNM’s ECE Poster Session

The Senior Capstone Design Projects Poster Session will be this Friday, April 26 from 11.30 am to 2:00 pm at the ECE Building Atrium and room 118.

Free parking for the poster session is available.

IEEE Albuquerque Section’s Newsletter, The Uplink

The IEEE Albuquerque section publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Uplink, with information relevant to all our members. The Uplink is send to our members through IEEE’s e-notice service but you may not receive it if your contact information is not up to date.

We will attached The Uplink (PDF) to post in this site as they become availble.

We accept short pieces (text and pictures) on information relevant to IEEE, our section, and our members. This may include information on events, achievements, and even brief descriptions of organizations closely related to IEEE’s mission. If you would like to submit material for The Uplink, please contact its editor, Jorge Piovesan at jlpiovesan@gmail.com. Note that we reserve the right to reject material that is objectionable or not relevant to the mission of the IEEE Albuquerque Section.

Reminder: Awards nominations are open through 21 April

This is a reminder that you have the opportunity of nominating your fellow members to one of this years IEEE awards:

PURPOSE OF AWARDS PROGRAM
The awards program is one of the most important activities in the IEEE. It provides the vehicle to recognize the efforts of the membership to improve the organization, and to bring merit to our profession.

WHO MAY BE NOMINATED
Nominees must be IEEE members

2013 Schedule:
Call for nominations March 31
Nomination packages due April 21
Recipient notified April 30
Award Banquet May 13

WHO CAN NOMINATE
Only an Albuquerque Section member

HOW TO NOMINATE
Electronic submission is the preferred method, but hard copies will be accepted as well.
PROFESSIONAL AWARDS OFFERED

OUTSTANDING SERVICE: Recognizes service to IEEE and to the engineering profession.

OUTSTANDING ENGINEER: Recognizes superior professional and technical achievements within IEEE and to the engineering profession.

OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING EDUCATOR: Recognizes academic accomplishments that have enhanced the profession.

OUTSTANDING ENTREPRENEUR: Recognizes a self-employed member of the Section who, through his/her consulting abilities has made outstanding contributions to the electro-technology profession.

OUTSTANDING YOUNG ENGINEER: Recognizes superior professional and technical achievements by a young engineer (within ten years of his/her highest earned degree) within IEEE and to the engineering profession.
STUDENT AWARDS OFFERED

OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT: Recognizes graduate academic accomplishments. There are two awards: outstanding male and outstanding female graduate student.

OUTSTANDING UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT: Recognizes undergraduate academic accomplishments. There are two awards: outstanding male and outstanding female undergraduate student.

Congratulations to Matthew McCullough, 2013 IEEE Presidential Scholarship awardee

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013
The IEEE Albuquerque Section congratulates Matthew McCullough  for being this year’s IEEE Presidential Scholarship Awardee.
Matt will be honored at the  IEEE – Sigma Xi Joint Annual Banquet on Monday May  13th from 5-9pm.  The banquet will be held at the Division of Continuing Education Building, 1634 University Blvd NE (just north of Indian School Road).
