Dr. Wong Wai Kin is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide and also outgoing Principal Engineer at ElectraNet Pty Ltd in Adelaide, South Australia, where he was the Technical Lead for grid connections and regulatory compliance, dynamic power system stability modeling/analysis, renewable energy integration, strategic system planning and emerging technologies for South Australia’s transmission network.  Dr. Wong obtained his B.Eng(1st Class Hons) and Ph.D(Electrical Engineering) degrees from the National University of Singapore in 1993 and 1998 respectively.  He holds Chair and Vice-chair roles for the South Australian Chapter of the IEEE Power and Energy Society since 2013.  Dr. Wong’s technical interests include power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy such as wind and solar, power system analysis, energy storage, demand response, renewable microgrids, electric vehicles, and emerging topics such as V2G, Internet of Things/Energy, Blockchaining and distributed peer-to-peer energy exchange/trading.

 Bio:

Joseph Leung is a principal engineer at DIgSILENT Pacific, the consultancy arm of the company that produces PowerFactory. With 20 years’ experience, he has a wealth of diverse skills and experiences across the power industry. Joseph’s experience is strongly focused around transmission planning and generator connections, including control system design and tuning, connection analysis, generator performance standard development and negotiation, commissioning and testing. He was the IEEE PES (Victoria) Chair between 2013 and 2015; and board member of the Electrical College of Engineers, Australia from 2014 to 2016.

Vincent is a senior sales engineer in Tesla in APAC, his work on energy storage system covers driving technical conversation with customers, techno-commercial analysis on various energy storage applications and electrical configuration and design. Prior to Tesla, Vincent was with a global power and automation organization, pioneering business activities for a range of power electronics products from solar inverters to EV fast chargers, active harmonics filters and DC track-side infrastructure for the Singaporean and regional markets. He is strongly passionate on rise of renewables as primary energy source and has 6-year experience in residential, commercial and utility scale solar projects.  He graduated with first class honours on electrical engineering from the National University in Singapore in 2011.

Minghui has 8 years of experience in the wind and solar industry, where he has worked on numerous renewable energy projects in the Asia Pacific region. He has worked with one of the top wind turbine manufacturer Siemens where Minghui was responsible for analyzing and conducting feasibility studies & site suitability studies in the Asia Pacific regions and has worked on various wind farms in the region.

In DNV GL Singapore, he is currently dealing mainly with early project feasibility studies, energy assessments, meteorological monitoring campaigns & project management services in the renewables advisory division. Minghui was also the technical project manager for several technical due diligence on wind and solar farms in the region and has also supported several offshore wind farm projects where DNV GL provided project engineering and owner’s engineer services. He is familiar with the contract terms and financial assumptions used in renewables projects today. He has also experience working on various renewable assets, totalling more than 2GW of projects globally, focusing on the contractual terms and financial assumptions.

Minghui has also completed the Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) course which focuses on energy management, energy efficiency, procurement, finance and economics used in energy projects.
