The Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organisation with IEEE Power & Energy Society (IEEE PES) as one of IEEE’s largest technical communities. It is the world’s most renowned forum for sharing the latest technological developments in the electrical power industry. In the past, IEEE PES has supported and strengthened a range of initiatives to make smart grid a reality worldwide.

Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) Conference is a flagship event of the IEEE Smart Grid initiative and is a series of conferences organized in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Attendees at these conferences include a range of power industry professionals from generation, transmission, distribution, consulting, equipment suppliers, policy/regulatory authorities and end users.

The Seventh Australasian Conference on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT Asia 2017), sponsored by IEEE Power & Energy Society, USA will be held from December 4 – 7, 2017 at the Science Centre, University of Auckland, New Zealand. The theme of this year’s conference is “Smart Grid for Smart Communities”. Besides regular paper submission streams, it includes a variety of options for industry representatives to participate in. Industry participation could be in the form of keynote speeches, industry panel sessions, technical tutorials, paper and poster presentations, young professionals sessions, women in engineering sessions and wider opportunities for trade-exhibits and networking.

Call for Abstracts:

The organizing committee invites practicing industry professionals to submit a 500-word abstract from a broad range of topics in the electricity and energy sector. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase and present engineering knowledge, case studies, technical or analytical experiences, or an individual’s or organizations technical work. This is a great opportunity to discuss technical, and regulatory challenges around new technologies such as photovoltaic (PVs), on-grid batteries, electric vehicles (EVs) and other emerging technologies in the context of the theme of the conference. An indicative list of topics (and not limited to) is available on the conference website.

Industry participants will have the opportunity to present their papers in the following formats:

  1. Keynote Speech
  2. Oral Presentation
  3. Panel Session
  4. Poster Presentation
  5. Workshops/Tutorials

Accepted submissions will have the option to extend the abstract to a full 5-page paper to be published in the conference proceedings. Selected 5-page papers following a peer-review process would be entitled to be a part of IEEExplore (World’s largest Electrical Engineering Publication Database).
