The Internet Technical Committee (ITC) is active in several areas. It
has successfully launched new workshops and symposiums, is providing
co-sponsorship for Internet-related events, and holds face-to-face
meetings as needed to ensure further progress. For more information, click

The Internet Technical Committee (ITC) has successfully launched and established several workshops on topics relevant to the Internet community, including
Global Internet,
Internet Services and Enabling Technologies, and
Network Services and Operation.
The Global Internet (GI) Symposium is the flagship event established and organized by ITC. It is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society and ITC. Until 2002, the symposium was held in conjunction with
IEEE Globecom and since then has moved to be held in conjunction with
IEEE Infocom. The symposium provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss advances in Internet-related technologies. The focus of the symposium is on experimental systems and on emerging Internet technologies.

Special Interest Groups
ITC gives importance to cutting-edge research areas opening Special Interest Groups and supporting related activities such as Special Issues, Conferences, Workshops, Standardization, etc. A SIG is generally opened on a very recent subject in Internet-working, if there is a clear activity related to the subject, in which ITC members are involved and about which the ITC members are willing to report during meetings. Here is the list of current SIGs.
Suggestions on new Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are welcome to be discussed during ITC meetings.
Rewarding Deserving ITC
Members
Beyond the scientific
activities, ITC's scope includes nomination of deserving members for
awards, promotions to IEEE Senior Member or IEEE Fellow, and for
Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society. Individual
ITC members can make suggestions for such nominations at any point in
time by sending an email to any of the current ITC officers. The
officers will review each suggestion and support a nomination as
appropriate. The current ITC secretary will also solicit suggestions for
such nominations at least once a year via the ITC mailing list.
