Turismo en Tucumán
Tucumán is synonymous with history. It is independence. It is geographical smallness but greatness of spirit. It is a must for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the roots of a rich country. It’s green, it’s peace. It is the garden of the Republic and for that, there are enough foundations.
Being the smallest province of Argentina, is located in the northwest of the country, 1,311 kilometers from the Federal Capital. Its surface is 22,524 km² and it is estimated that 1,687,305 inhabitants live in it.
Its capital is San Miguel de Tucumán, where the indispensable ingredients are combined to make this city a temptation when visiting it: kindness of its people, history and architecture that can be felt in each building, closeness to the hills and a warmth that is perceived in each ride. The city is peaceful and quiet; the greatest movement is in the morning or in the afternoon since San Miguel has a distinctive seal that is the siesta.
From 2pm to 5pm the streets are practically empty and businesses close. However, during the nights the provincial spirit can be felt in bars, theaters, restaurants and shopping centers that open their doors from Monday to Monday until after midnight.
The province offers a large number of natural tourist resources such as beautiful landscapes, excellent weather during autumn and winter, a large number of protected natural areas as well as cultural tourist attractions with pre-Hispanic, Jesuit or intellectual boom periods currently housing four Universities that dictate more than 120 careers that together with other centers of higher education, form a valuable intellectual capital recognized throughout the world.
Among the sites of great tourist attraction, it is worth mentioning San Pedro de Colalao, San Javier Hill, Ruins of Quilmes, Pucará de la Ciudacita, Raco, Simoca, the Escaba reservoir lake, Cochuna, the Treasure Lagoon, El Mollar, the Parque de the Menhirs, the Quebrada de los Sosa, Tafí del Valle, El Siambón, Villa Nougués, Yerba Buena, the Nevados del Aconquija, Colalao del Valle and Amaicha del Valle hills, among others.
